Tidbit Tuesday*

"When Melese is playing by himself he enjoys cooing and babbling."

"Before every meal one child gets up and prays for the food and Meaza puts her hands over her eyes and follows the prayer."

* Steven thought I should mention that these tidbits come from the social report from CHSFS, and that I am not just making random stuff up.

  1. Beautiful! Gigi has a purple bumbo and I am sure she will let little m use it when he visits...or if/when she is done with it, he can have it!

  2. Haha! Give Steven a swift kick in the buttocks for that comment. :)

I wonder if you can find out what the prayers are that they say. That would be so special to know.

  5. Okay, Steven's comment was so funny that I just don't even know where to START. Now I'm picturing you just sitting at your desk totally making up stories... you look like you're having fun, though!

  12. Ha, I would actually like you to start making up quotes under their pictures, I think that would be hilarious.
"M says she really likes Honey...wow what a coincidence we harvest honey." Something like that :)

  13. Your kids look great, Julie! Please let me know if you want to chat before you leave. My daughter is just a bit older than yours and the bigger kid issues are different than babies. You will have your hands full and it will be awesome (and challenging).

  14. My reaction to today's tidbit is as follows:

Melese absolutely cracks.me.up. He is enitrely too cool for words.

    and

Meaza will be needing acting lessons, art supplies, blank canvas and a stage.

  15. We got to see the children at our agency praying before a meal. Absolutely precious. I think the boys hold their hands together under their chin, and the girls are to cover their eyes. Don't know why.

  16. I've been studying Melese's toes and it turns out they're perfect!

Let's go to Ethiopia and meet them already, shall we?!

  18. Hey there,

my name is Shannon and although I don't post much on your blog I have been following your adoption journey for some time now. I know you have been on my Warren family blog to post before as well. Congrats again on the referral/passed court for your kids, I know you guys waited a LONG time and must be very excited.

I'm not sure if you heard about the terrible turn of events for some Canadian waiting families this week? There are only two agencies you can go through in Canada to adopt from Ethiopia and one of them, out of the blue, filed for Bankruptcy. We don't even understand how this could even happen (although now we are finding out our agencies director may have spent our money personally) and are waiting to hear more detail...but in the mean time it looks like all of us who had been waiting (some waiting almost 2 years) for referrals are going to be left with no hope for a family.

We are trying to lobby our government to step in and facilitate the rest of the files that were waiting to be processed, but it looks like the only way this will happen is if we can create a lot of pressure on them. We are a group of about 400 and honestly I think they simply think we will be forgotten in a few weeks.

Sorry to be the kind of person who asks for help but we heartbroken are desperate to save our adoptions. Can you please post the link to our petition on your blog and encourage you American blogging community to do the same.

    Thanks so much,

    Shannon Warren
