Do we have the coolest polling place or what??
In the warmer months you get the added perk of beefy, sexy lifeguards.
It wasn't warm enough for the men in red today. It didn't matter...I only had eyes for one man....
President Barack Obama.
So the pups wouldn't feel left out, we shared a soda when we came home...
Did anyone else tear up while casting their vote?
I swear I almost yelled,"God Bless America!!!" when I was finished. I guess that wouldn't have been the strangest thing to ever happen in Venice.
Happy election day!

I LOVE YOU JULIE!!!! (even if you voted for Obama)
ReplyDeleteI'll echo your sentiment... God Bless America!!! :)
I did not tear up, which is surprising really. I guess I was too busy making sure Quinn picked the right guy. I mean... pointed to the right guy, and then I made the mark.
ReplyDeleteI almost teared up. Craig and I high-fived on the way out of our voting place to the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here at work and can't think of anything else...they should make election day a national holiday, darn it all...
Cindy
Wasn't it awesome! The lady in front of us thought I was kind of wierd when I asked her to take our picture in line. Oh well. I can't wait to get home tonight to watch the returns.
ReplyDeleteI've been tearing up for the last few days every time I think about voting and what the likely (hope-hope-hope) results will be - not sure I'll have any tears left for when I finish voting later today, but you never know!
ReplyDeleteYes! I teared up, embarrasingly, teared up, and have the ballot receipt under the glass of my desk...and I took pictures at the polling station this morning as well.
ReplyDeleteIt was very emotional! I can't wait until the results come out.... aaarhhh! Patience is not my forte :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't tear up. Odd. Maybe too early in the day?
ReplyDeleteYou do have the coolest polling place!
I'm so happy that there are so many people taking photos! Yay!
I have been all over the map emotionally today! It is definitely a historic day and I am honored to be able to participate in it!
ReplyDeleteI early voted next to the pharmacy in a grocery store. You win the cool voting venue!
Rebecca
I'm a Canadian who has been keenly interested in your election...I hope that Obama WINS!!! And wins big...
ReplyDeleteCould you help me understand something though? Is it true that even though Obama could win the "popular vote" this does not mean that he has won the election. The vote then goes to the House of Representatives to cast an "electoral vote". Isn't this what happened to Al Gore? He won the popular vote but did not win the electoral vote.
To me, this is kind of scary! Sounds kind of like the "good 'ol boys" club. Isn't this how old Georgie Bush got elected? As an American, does this worry you? I'm curious.
Thanks,
Christine
Hands down coolest voting place!
ReplyDeleteI took N & T's picture outside my polling location (not nearly as cool). Wanted to document T's first presidential election and mark such a historic day! And you got it sister....
God Bless America!
Yes, I indeed teared up! It was that whole stinging eye thing trying to blink it back for fear it would turn into the ugly cry that you can't stop.
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
Love the Obama Jones Soda!
ReplyDeleteI cried when I saw the long lines while driving to work this morning. I am a basket case today, and I am not even American, for Petes sake. My kids are though. The tears are for my kids and for all of you guys.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte
Yay! The lifeguard tower polling place picture I wanted! Baywatch for Barack! We voted in the Korean church around the corner...I love walking to vote...seems so grassroots. xoxo-Kat
ReplyDeleteI had no idea anyone else would do that! Yes, I was all teary when I voted. Tonight we will see how racist American is or isn't. I'm excited, but so nervous, too. I've been a mess all day. Checking the news, checking anything, when really there is just nothing to check yet!!! I love that new picture of you guys.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Indiana! Some numbers are coming in...
ReplyDeleteChristine in Canada,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is scary. Very. Here is more on the electoral college (and more on Gore's debacle)...

Get ready for a mass influx of Americans if things don't go well.
Hard to get teary-eyed when I vote by mail, but I do get all patriotic and weepy inside when I fill it out.
ReplyDeleteGoing to the polling place is definitely more exciting.
Happy election day! I'm engulfed in a sea of patriotism tonight and lov'in it.
ReplyDeleteYep, almost cried:-) I am so EXCITED!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, very teary indeed. It's just such an emotional and historic moment. I can't take it :)
ReplyDeleteOH FOR PETE"S SAKE WILL THEY JUST CALL IT!!!????!!???
ReplyDeleteAnd we have ourselves a leader with a capital "L"....and for that I shed tears of joy!!
