We just watched this five or six times. Turo declared, "outside" which I think is his attempt to say "look there is green grass that is not covered with snow and Meazi doesn't have to wear boots. When will it be like that again here?"
And your post yesterday was so open and wonderful. I found myself nodding along many times. I know I'm not the only mom who wishes you could come over with your lovely children and have some coffee.
Oh my gosh, I love her. Yes, the dance made me laugh out loud. The old granny walk was funny enough but then: bam! The Dance. That girl knows comedy. Get her into an intro Groundlings class pronto.
Your post on Monday made me a little queasy as well, but only because I laughed out loud at the FGM joke - even before you said you were joking. Somehow it felt inappropriate. As someone who will hopefully be picking up her Ethiopian son in the next couple months, I can not say thank you enough. Please keep writing and please keep videotaping... laughter and tears, the greatest combination. Kerry
That girl is such a crack up. Manny would adore her, I know it. I forgot to put into my comments for your last post that I love what you said about never having really known what joy or sadness was before you had kids. I told my husband about it tonight over dinner and he agreed that truer words were never spoken. Oh, and FYI, I loved what you said about Melese now gazing at you as he drinks his milk. Does they follow you into the bathroom? I haven't gone to the bathroom alone for years now. Not that I am complaining.....
I LOVE her little walk down the path. Hilarious! I don't have words to express how amazing I thought your last post was. I really think all PAPs should have to read it. Thank you so much for your honesty and your humor.
Did those new sneakers help her bolt straight out into the street? That's what mine (kids not sneakers) do - pull thier hand from mine when I least expect it and RUN. She looks so happy and healthy and verbal and dancey. I've been trying to decide what/how to comment on the previous post. Its all just so much and so huge. "Congratulations and hang in there" pretty much sums it right up.
I don't know which post I like better, the last one or this one. I didn't comment on the your last post but I took a lot away from it. The "new sneaker" video is just so darn cute I had to comment.
Precious video. Meazi's language skills are amazing. I've been hearing all about your gorgeous kids from "Papa", but even more about what a fabulous mother you are!!! Everyone has their doubts in the beginning....and new parents all need time to adjust to the new chapter in their marriage. You just have the gift of being able to express so beautifully what we all feel at times.
Boy meets Girl. Girl moves in. Boy marries Girl. Boy and Girl try to start a family. Girl is pregnant. Girl is not pregnant. Repeat. Girl gets cancer. Boy and Girl keep trying. Nine Years later, they may be getting close. Only Time will Tell...
That little dance made me laugh out loud! She is adorable! Hope that you can catch her now that she will be running so fast!
