    Oh, how very sad for your family :( Is there anything I can do? I'm in the neighborhood. I'm going to go cry my eyes out now with my own 12 yr old doggie and make sure he knows how loved he is. Hang in there...

    I'm so sorry. Losing my dogs, I found Dog Heaven by Cynthia Rylant to be helpful--and I needed help. It was a profound loss, and this children's picture book addresses it eloquently. I still keep it on my bookshelf, and I'm 32.

    i'm so sorry julie. i lost my great dane 10 years ago. it still brings tears to my eyes. i also still feel him around me sometimes in still and quiet moments. sending you hugs and peace.
