  4. Oh Julie...I am so sorry for Elana and all of her family and friends. My friend Tracy died of cancer when she was 35. Her cousin wrote her a letter a few weeks before and there was one line that was a great comfort to Tracy and I will never forget it (it was 15 years ago that I heard it) it went "...may your journey be swift and sure and may your destination be glorious."

May you all have moments of profound peace over the next few weeks.

    Elena is in my prayers.

  8. Sending her love and healing. I had an amazing experience recently doing a blessing way for a friend of ours who is dying. It was amazing and powerful. Very healing for my friend and all of the women who came to support her and bathe her in love. I wrote about it here: http://melodiousmama.blogspot.com/2010/09/reclaiming-community.html

Maybe something like this could honor Elena?

  11. I actually "knew" Elena from a support board we all belonged to for a time. I followed her way back when on her journey to her son. I heard through some friends about her journey and the end it is coming to far too soon. My heart is breaking for her two children and her husband.

    May peace find them all.

  14. Strange but true - I was thinking of Elena today. After reading your post about her and the breast milk, so long ago, she just came to mind today, and then I read your blog post.

May she and all surrounding her have peace in this difficult time.

  18. Julie,

I too was a breastmilk donor, and read your first post about Elena and her mission to get little m the best food made. Elena is a goddess without question, and a very special place awaits her. My prayers and positive energy are flowing for her and her family today especially. The unfairness is palpable. I'm so very sorry.

  20. Dearest Elena...
It sounds as though your light has penetrated every corner of the world... your love has made lives around yours brighter and better. May peace and joy fall upon you like soft white feathers of comfort and hope, and may your spirit forever live on with your loved ones.

  21. ....I remember the post about Elena before. Unbelievable. I lost my mother to cancer 6 years ago- she was 52 and I was 28. This hits close to home. It was the most difficult thing in my life I've experienced and I was a young adult. I cannot imagine what it will be like for her two young children to experience another loss like this. And then her husband, to loose his best friend. It pains me very much to think about it. F*** I hate cancer! I hate it, I hate it. I wish I could beat it to death with my own bare hands. I can't say I'm a religious person. I talk to my mom a lot even though she isn't here. She does what I need her to do. Even though I don't know Elena, I'm going to ask her to go be with her husband, her children and her family in spirit- where ever they are and help them. I know she will. Elena- I don't know you but I'm thinking about you so ever much.--Paula
