Sunday Snapshot

Airport lounge, Dubai, middle of the night. Proof that you can actually fall asleep while drinking coffee (and it was that super strength Arabic coffee too). Doesn't Melese look petite?

    I hope you print this and frame it for him. this is one of the best new parent photos i've seen. we have one similar of Y and Q but not in dubai!

    Brings back such mixed feelings for me. The joy of having my child in my arms but the utter exhaustion and wanting to be home so very badly. Love this pic.

    I love that I'm pretty sure I know exactly where in the Dubai airport you are. And that in this pict, Melessa looks just like G & F did at that time--all forehead, no hair. ;-)

    I totally had to embiggen that photo by clicking. Melese looks like possibly the most darling thing ever witnessed on the face of the earth all sweetly curled up like that right on your chest.

    BTW, what is that black shadowy blob where your foot should be?

    do you know why i love this photo? because it really portrays the journey of adoption in one quick image. the exhaustion. the long nights. the feelings of being overwhelmed. coffee. babies. travel. family. what-are-we-doing-and-how-did-we-get-here confusion. and despite it all, peace. i love, love, love this pic.
